RM150 fines for AES summonses

KUALA LUMPUR: Summonses issued under the Automated Enforcement System (AES) will be fixed at RM150.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the decision was approved by the Cabinet during a meeting recently.
He also dismissed rumours that the government was going to clear some 1.6 million summonses which were issued to speeding vehicles under the AES when it was first introduced in 2012.
"They have to pay, but from now onwards it will all be RM150," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby here, today.
He said those who failed to pay up their summonses would be blacklisted and not allowed to renew their driving licences.
Liow said currently there are 40 AES cameras installed in the Klang Valley and Perak. — Bernama
