NILAI: The 200 pilgrims who were left stranded Monday after their charter flight failed to obtain a landing permit are still awaiting their departure to the Holy Land.
All the pilgrims are still putting up at a hotel in Nilai.
One of the pilgrims A. Husaini Rahman, 41, said to date they have not received any news on their flight status.
"We are all confused but together we pray for God's guidance to give us direction and good news soon," he said.
Meanwhile, the airline in a statement yesterday said its maiden Eaglexpress Al-Fajr pilgrimage flight would be departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) today.
The statement said that Eaglexpress was finalising with the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia to confirm landing slots in Jeddah and Madinah.
However, attempts to obtain further clarification from Eaglexpress failed. — Bernama
