RENOWNED for its commitment to excellence, Heriot-Watt University has received numerous accolades for its programmes.
Among others, the university is ranked 27th in the UK and fourth in Scotland, and placed second in the UK for Building and Town & Country Planning according to the Guardian University Guide 2017.
Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) offers a host of programmes at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. All its programmes have been designed with input from industry professionals and aim to fulfi l membership requirements for the relevant professional bodies. Its foundation programmes are also designed to provide students with a direct pathway to its undergraduate programmes.
A former Heriot-Watt foundation student, Lim Zi Sheng is now pursuing its Quantity Surveying programme.
“I chose to join the foundation programme because it was a faster route.
“A relative told me about Quantity Surveying and the attractive career prospects available. After doing some research, I chose to pursue this field,” he said.
Zi Sheng said he then fell in love with the study environment in the university, and decided to continue with his Quantity Surveying degree here.
“This was a good decision as I will be able to get a UK degree, plus Heriot-Watt is recognised for its quality courses in this field.
What’s more, the programme here emphasises practical learning in addition to theoretical learning,” he added. Another unique advantage offered by the university is its inter-campus transfer programme, Go Global. In an interconnected world, having international study experience is a major advantage. With a strong presence in three countries, namely the UK, Dubai and Malaysia, the university is perfectly poised to offer students a global education.
Through this programme, students can transfer to their campus of choice as long as their programme is offered there.
They also have the flexibility to choose the date and duration of transfer. The transfer process is seamless as the same curriculum is used in all of Heriot-Watt’s campuses. Go Global is open to the university’s students who have completed their foundation studies and are continuing with their undergraduate studies, as well as current undergraduate students.
For more information on the Go Global programme, as well as the programmes and scholarships offered at HWUM, visit its campus in Putrajaya during its open days on March 18 and 19, or log on to www.hw.edu.my or call 03-8894 3888.
