SEREMBAN: Great news for book lovers and avid readers!
The Negri Sembilan Book Festival 2017 will be held for four days, beginning Thursday, in Seremban 2 near here.
Jointly organised by the Negri Sembilan State Library Corporation (PPANS) and Negri Sembilan Reading Movement Committee, the book fest will be held from March 30 to April 2 at the Mydin Mall.
In a statement today, PPANS chairman Datuk Mat Ali Hassan said there would be 43 booths selling a variety of reading materials at special price during the book fest, including novels, Islamic literature, comics, culinary books, historical books, magazines and the latest examination-related materials.
"Parents are urged to take their children to the book fest to instil a love of books and interest in reading," he said.
In addition, Mat Ali said a variety of activities had also been lined up for visitors to participate, including 1Malaysia colour contest, quizzes, "qasidah" and "cak lempong" performances, Didi and Friends session, modelling clay workshop and lucky draws.
"This book fest is one of the PPANS activities to encourage reading among the community to improve knowledge.
"The publishing industry which is the backbone of the success of any book fair, isn't solely focusing on making profits but rather disseminating knowledge for public utilisation," he added. — Bernama
