'Avatar 2' to begin filming in the fall

SIGOURNEY Weaver has told The Hollywood Reporter that James Cameron will begin shooting the sequel to his epic blockbuster in the fall.
Speaking at a screening of her latest movie The Assignment, Sigourney Weaver, who played Dr. Grace Augustine in the first Avatar movie, commented on its highly-anticipated follow-up.
The shooting of this sequel, which has been postponed many times, is now scheduled to begin in the fall. Along with Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Stephen Lang are set to resume their roles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, James Cameron has finished the scripts for the four sequels to his science-fiction blockbuster and they will be filmed simultaneously.
This huge organisational challenge has forced Fox to push back the release of Avatar 2 to an as yet-unknown date. In March, the director James Cameron said that a Christmas 2018 release was no longer possible, but did not give another date. This could upset the release schedule for the three other sequels which were initially planned for 2020, 2022 and 2023.
Sigourney Weaver said that she was not concerned about disappointing fans as the scripts are "so amazing" and "well worth waiting for."
The second sequel will bring back Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, as Jake Sully, a disabled ex-marine, and Neytiri, a young Na'vi woman from the planet Pandora. Their children are expected to be at the heart of this new story which will also feature Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang, although their characters were left for dead at the end of the first movie. — AFP Relaxnews
