Butcher fined for threatening to kill sister

KUALA LUMPUR: A butcher was fined RM3,000, in default five months' jail, by the Ampang Magistrate's Court here today for threatening to kill his sister after the woman told him off against entering her daughter's room.
Magistrate's Mohamad Firdaus Sadina Ali handed down the sentence on Mohd Rizal Shahsudz Zaman, 37, after he pleaded guilty to the charge of criminally intimidating housewife Azlina Shahsudz Zaman, 40.
The offence was committed at a house in Kampung Tasik Tambahan, Ampang, Hulu Langat, here at 1am last Feb 15.
Mohd Rizal Shahsudz, who is not married, was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which provides an imprisonment for up to two years or with fine, or both, and if the threat is to cause death or grievous hurt, with imprisonment of up to seven years, or with fine, or both, if found guilty.
In mitigation, Mohd Rizal Shahsudz, represented by lawyer Muhammad Amin Abdullah, said it was his client's first offence.
