Cops urge public to fill up 'balik kampung' form

KUCHING: Members of the public who will be leaving their homes to celebrate Aidilfitri are urged to fill up the "balik kampung" form to facilitate police surveillance and patrolling activities.
Sarawak Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief SAC Shafie Ismail said the public could obtain the form at any police station or download it from the official Royal Malaysia Police website.
"I urge the people who plan to leave their homes during the festive season to take the necessary security measures including informing the neighbours and filling up the form," he said in his speech at the launch of the state-level "Op Selamat" in conjunction with Aidilfitri here today.
Also present was state Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu. — Bernama
