SUNGAI BULOH: The first phase of the Sungai Buloh - Serdang - Putrajaya (SSP) line is expected to be operational by July 2021 and be fully operational a year later.
Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) SSP line project director Datuk Amiruddin Ma'aris revealed that the construction for the line was moving at a good pace.
"If everything is to proceed accordingly, we should be able to achieve a 15 to 18% completion rate by end of the year," Amiruddin said during a press conference after briefing parliamentarians, state assemblymen and local councils on the progress of the SSP line today.
The SSP line is the second MRT project which covers a total of 52.2km area, consisting of 35 stations.
During the project briefing, the attendees raised many issues related to connectivity and accessibility of the SSP line stations and frequency of the feeder and shuttle bus services.
Amiruddin said MRT Corp has no issue with increasing the frequency of the bus services, adding that the challenge was in having sufficient drivers and maintaining it.
"To address this, we are constantly having discussions with the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) and other relevant agencies," he said.
Among the attendees were Bukit Lanjan assemblyman Elizabeth Wong, Batu MP Tian Chua, Kepong MP Dr Tan Seng Giaw, Subang MP R. Sivarasa, and Seri Serdang assemblyman Noor Hanim Ismail.
