KUALA LUMPUR: In an effort to streamline potential employees looking for jobs while driving at preferred locations, local career and employment resource agency Graduan announced its collaboration with Google-owned Waze, a popular GPS navigation app to launch the GRADUAN X Waze Campaign.
The collaboration which is the first of its kind in Asia, allows Malaysian drivers to search and find a job nearby by utilising the popular navigation app.
"This offers a viable platform for job seekers using Waze. Simply type Graduan or Job or Jobs in the app and Waze will pin point job locations within a radius of five kilometers from their location.
"They can click on the link further which will redirect the job alert to Graduan's website for more details.
"Job seekers who are using Waze will also be reminded about the available jobs near them through @graduan pins and arrows that serve as a digital billboard in the App," said Graduan director Nabil Marie following the launch at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, here, today.
He said that so far there have been over 100 companies such as Sime Darby, Maybank and Pharmaniaga already working with Graduan to offer jobs within the app.
"In addition to offering jobs, Graduan wants to help potential employees to facilitate effective job search techniques thereby reducing unemployment in the country," he said.
Meanwhile, Waze Malaysia business manager Edward Ling said the collaboration is in line with Waze's objective to reduce traffic, save time and costs.
"Location is often the main consideration is searching for a job. As such, through this collaboration, we are hoping to put jobs on the map instead," he said.
