ALOR GAJAH: Four people including an Indonesian man were injured in an accident involving four vehicles in Jalan Hutan Simpan Sungai Udang-Masjid Tanah, here today.
Alor Gajah district police chief Supt A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the 9am incident involved two Proton Wira cars, a Proton Saga BLM and a Suzuki motorcycle.
He said the victims were identified as Ubaidur Rahman (Indonesian); Omnira Sehat, 33; Hayati Ebi, 39; and Hamidah Ahmad, 25.
"No fatality has been reported. All the victims were taken to the Malacca Hospital to receive treatment," he told Bernama here today.
Asmadi said initial investigations revealed that the Proton Wira car, driven by Ubaidur, was heading towards Masjid Tanah before it skidded and veered into the opposite lane, hitting another Proton Wira.
"Subsequently, the Sungai Udang-bound Proton Saga BLM and motorcycle failed to avoid the two Proton Wiras and collided," he said, adding that the accident caused a massive traffic jam in both directions. — Bernama
