IPOH: Islam's concept of 'Rahmatan Lil 'Alamin' which means 'blessings for all' is not specific to any group of people but must be understood and translated into the lives of all communities, says Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
"The religion (Islam) is for all people and it must be applied to our lives," he noted.
"We should understand that Islam does not only apply to Muslims in Malaysia and was for a group of people but is for everyone in the world," Zambry told reporters after attending Chinese New Year celebrations at the Masjid Cina Muhammadiah here today.
Meanwhile, Ipoh Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association chairman Datuk Dr Fadzli Cheah Abdullah said about 500 people attended the celebrations this year which were held to foster closer ties between people of various races. — Bernama
