Johor civil servants can expect a better bonus

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor State Secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani said the Johor civil servants can expect a bonus of higher than RM1,500.
"The bonus for Johor civil servants is better than what the federal government has announced. This is a tribute to all Johor civil servants," he told reporters after the National Transformation 2050 Dialogue (TN50) attended by Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and 2,700 civil servants at Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios, here today.
The actual amount of bonus would be announced by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin when tabling the Johor Budget 2018 at the State Legislative Assembly on Nov 23.
Azmi said there are 16,612 Johor civil servants and 121,335 federal civil servants in the state.
When tabling Budget 2018 on Oct 27, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak announced a bonus of RM1,500 for federal civil servants.
The payment would be made two times, RM1,000 in early January 2018 and another RM500 before Aidilfitri celebration (first half of June).
Government retirees would receive RM750 to be paid two times, RM500 in January 2018, and another RM250 before Aidilfitri celebration. - Bernama
