SERDANG: The junior administrative and diplomatic service officers (PTD) must observe the service oath with integrity and disallow negative practices to affect the image and credibility of the civil service.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said junior PTD officers should take on the responsibility of safeguarding the confidentiality of important information and preserving national secrecy.
"Knowledge and professionalism without the cultural value of integrity certainly will not guarantee prosperous development to the country," he said in his speech at the award presentation ceremony for the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) Postgraduate Diplomas and Intan Fellow 2017, at the Malaysian Agricultural Expo Park Serdang (Maeps), here today.
Ali said civil servants should pave the way in line with the country's preparation to take advantage of the open opportunity of the fourth industrial revolution.
"Junior civil servants are responsible for implementing the major initiatives of the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) as planned for the digital-based economy," he explained.

Ali said a steady symbiosis between the government and civil service would be critical in realising TN50 aspiration.
"The government draws up the country's administration policy that will be implemented by the public service effectively in order to prosper the nation and the people," he said.
A total of 377 junior PTD officers received their diplomas at the ceremony today and Mohamad Zulhilmy Abd Manan was named as the recipient of the Chief Secretary to the Government Special Award. — Bernama
