KJ hitting all the right spots on Twitter

PETALING JAYA: If you've been on Twitter enough lately, you probably would have realised that our "tall, dark and handsome" minister Khairy Jamaluddin is taking the social media platform by storm.
The Youth and Sports Minister, adored by many for his athleticism, sporting behaviour and willingness to stop for a selfie with his supporters (ahem ... girls), has recently upped his social media game, as is evident in a couple of his tweets in recent days.
While his posts lauding Malaysian athletes' achievements and youth and sports related issues have always garnered quite a hefty amount of responses, his more recent light-hearted tweets are the ones getting Malaysians to smash the retweet and like buttons.
In fact, one post simply him saying "Menteri Belia & Sukan" (Youth and Sports Minister) has received over 27,000 retweets and 9,200 likes. And here's why.
A Twitter account @17sCoachella that posts fashion photos of those attending the annual massive music and arts Coachella festival in the United States had uploaded a picture on April 15 of New Zealand actor Keneti James Fitzgerald "KJ" Apa, with an accompanying caption “KJ Apa”.
In case you missed it, “KJ Apa” also translates to “KJ what” or “what is KJ” in English.
That prompted Khairy to retweet the image with his "Menteri Belia & Sukan" caption, and Malaysians were rightly amused.
However, that was not the only time Khairy broke Twitter.
A similarly hilarious post on April 14 also garnered over 10,800 retweets and 3,400 likes.
A Twitter user had asked if Rembau (of which Khairy is the MP) was in Malacca (which of course we know is not).
Unimpressed, he replied jokingly: “Romebau dekat Italy lah. Tengok lah muka kita semua Italian. Bangang betul budak tu (Romebou is in Italy. Just look at us (Rembau citizens), all with Italian faces. What an idiot).”
We are not sure about you, but we could definitely do with more jokes by Khairy.
