Man detained for insulting policeman

KUALA LUMPUR: A man was detained in Bandar Baru Selayang, Batu Caves, here today for allegedly insulting and making viral an image of a policeman on the social media.
Sentul district police deputy chief Supt Mohamed Rafiq Mohamed Mustafa said the 21-year-old suspect was detained at the Sentul district police station at about 2.10am.
He said the suspect admitted to recording a video of the policeman with intention to tarnish the image of the police.
The video was made when the policeman was issuing a summons to the suspect, he said in a statement.
Mohamed Rafiq said the policeman was on patrol in Taman Desa Bakti when he stopped the suspect at about 6.30pm for riding a motorcycle without wearing a crash helmet. — Bernama
