PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a man following a viral video that stirred religious sentiments.
Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said a report against a video that went viral was lodged on Aug 30.
"The report was made based on the viral video of a man who insulted Islam. Selangor police arrested the 24-year-old man at around 3.40am on Sunday (today) in Johor Baru.
"The suspect is from Kedah, and has no prior criminal record. The case is being investigated under Section 298A of the Penal Code for causing religious disharmony," he said today.
In the video, an unidentified man mocked the religion.
