National Council of Professors proposes its revival

KUALA LUMPUR: A proposal paper will be submitted to the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) on the revival of the National Council of Professors (MPN).
Former MPN Head of Political, Security and International Affairs Cluster Prof Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak said among the matters that should be given attention was the new approach which was more suitable for the continuance of MPN programme.
"We have given opinions. We propose for the continuance of the MPN. So, we have to submit the proposal paper, then the council (Council of Eminent Persons) will consider," he told the media after attending a meeting with the CEP, here today.
Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, at a media conference after chairing the first Cabinet meeting on May 23 had announced the dissolution of several agencies including the MPN which was formed by the previous government. — Bernama
