Ongkili's wife dies

KOTA KINABALU: Datin Seri Joan Maluda, wife of Kota Marudu Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili, who is also PBS deputy president, died today after struggling with a long-term illness.
She was 63.
Joan breathed her last at their residence in Kampung Kolopis, Penampang near here at 2.15pm, with her family members by her side.
In a statement here tonight, Ongkili said the public can pay their last respects during her funeral service at the SIB Church in Likas here on Sept 9 (Sunday) at 1pm.
"We thank the people for the wishes and prayers. She was a loving wife and great wholesome mother. She will be deeply missed," said Ongkili.
The couple has two children – a daughter Rachel Jane, and son Jordan.
