Over 20,000 detained, RM7.7 m drugs seized since January

KUALA LUMPUR: The police crippled 12 drug trafficking syndicates by arresting more than 20,000 people and seizing an assortment of drugs worth about RM7.73 million in the Klang Valley between January and October.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mazlan Lazim said those detained were 3,699 suspected drug traffickers and pushers, while the rest were addicts.
He said the police also seized properties worth about RM8.5 million, believed to be proceeds from the sale of drugs.
The seized drugs comprised 42.6kg heroin; 118kg ganja; 68kg syabu; 39,298 Erimin 5 pills; 35,047 ecstasy pills; 315 yaba pills; 4.4kg ketamin; 193kg ketum leaves and 996 litres ketum juice. — Bernama
