Perak to enhance public transportation system

IPOH: The public transportation system in the state will be enhanced as the Town and Country Planning Department is preparing the Perak 2040 Structural Planning Study.
Exco member Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon (BN-Chenderiang) said public transport is among the components included in the study which is in line with the Land Public Transport Master Plan.
"The state from time to time will take steps to improve public transport to ensure an efficient system with the contribution from the federal government," he said in his oral reply to Datuk Mohamad Kamil Shafie (BN-Manong).
"The Federal government through the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) has implemented the stage bus transformation programme with the MyBAS services in Ipoh," he added.
Dr Mah said the state government has applied to SPAD to transform the taxi and rental car services similar to that in the Klang Valley.
