RM1,500 fine for offering sex to policeman

KUALA LUMPUR: A 31-year-old woman was imposed a fine of RM1,500 in default two months in prison by the Magistrate's Court here today for prostituting herself to a policeman.
Julia Aso pleaded guilty to committing the offence through text messaging (SMS) at Pangsapuri Sri Penara, Jalan Permaisuri 1, Cheras here, at 11.30pm on Dec 25, as charged under 372B of the Penal Code.
In mitigation before magistrate Maizatul Munirah Abd Rahman, she said she was remorseful for her action and would not repeat the offence.
However, deputy public prosecutor Noorelynna Hanim Abd Halim urged the court to impose an appropriate sentence "as a lesson to the accused". — Bernama
