Suspects in the murder of a man in Johor yesterday identified

JOHOR BARU: The police have identified four suspects involved in the murder of a man at a petrol station in Jalan Sri Pelangi, Taman Pelangi, here last night.
Johor Police Chief Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said efforts were actively being made to track down and arrest the four of them.
He said investigations revealed that the BMW 520i vehicle with the serial number WB79L used by the suspects had a registration number that did not belong to them.
"The original owner had been detected and after interviewing the owner, we found that the person had nothing to do with the case," he said in a statement, here today.
He said the autopsy carried out by the Sultanah Aminah Hospital revealed that the victim had died due to a stab wound to the heart.
Mohd Khalil also asked members of the public who had any information on the incident to immediately provide the information to the nearest police station or call the Johor Police Hotline at 07-2212999.
In the incident at about 7.30 last night, the victim, in his 30's, died after he was stabbed and run over using a BMW car by a group of four men.
The incident occurred when the victim who was with a woman, in her 20's and believed to be his wife, was filling up air into his car tyre at the station, when the suspects suddenly appeared and tried to pull him into their car.
The victim, however, was reported to have fought back and this resulted in a scuffle between the suspects and the victim.
Looking at the incident, the woman who was with the victim immediately fled and sought help from members of the public.
The victim managed to escape briefly but the suspects later boarded their car and made a turn towards the petrol station before knocking down the victim and later reversing the vehicle to run over the victim again before making their escape.
The murder that occurred at the petrol station was viralled in the social media via a video recording made by members of the public who were at the scene of the incident. — Bernama
