JOHOR BARU: Surau At Taqwa in Taman Titiwangsa near Kluang was broken into on Monday, resulting in the loss of Tahfiz class donations totalling between RM100 and RM200.
Kluang District Police chief ACP Mohamad Laham said police received a report on the incident at about 9am the same day, from a security committee member of the surau.
"The incident was first realised by a civilian, who later informed the surau security committee member at 7am after finding items in the PA system room of the surau scattered around," he said in a statement here, today.
Mohamad said initial police investigations revealed that there was damage done to the main entrance of the surau, and the donation box was smashed-open by the suspect.
He said the police are currently investigating the case under Section 453 of the Penal Code for housebreaking. — Bernama
