Tengku Puteri Sofiah laid to rest at Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum

SHAH ALAM: The remains of the younger sister of the Sultan of Selangor, Tengku Puteri Sofiah Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, 68, who died yesterday, were buried at Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum in Seksyen 5, here today.
Earlier, the remains were prepared and accorded funeral prayers led by the Deputy Mufti of Selangor, Dr Anhar Opir at Masjid Istana Diraja, Klang.
The remains were then taken by hearse to the royal mausoleum.
Pallbearers then carried the remains of Tengku Puteri Sofiah which were laid to rest at 11am.
Accompanying the remains are the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah.
Also present were Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohamad Azmin Ali and his wife, Datin Seri Shamsidar Taharin.
In addition to royalty and palace officials, the people also paid their last respects to the remains of Tengku Puteri Sofiah.
Meanwhile, Tengku Puteri Sofiah's eldest son, Raja Jasril Ashrull Raja Jaafar, 37, said his mother was receiving treatment at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang since six months ago due to kidney and liver complications.
"Yesterday, my mum suddenly asked to be moved out of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward to the ordinary ward where she died at 3.10pm," he added.
The late Tengku Puteri Sofiah is survived by a son and two daughters. — Bernama
