KUANTAN: A Prasarana Malaysia Berhad fuel card supervisor and his younger brother were charged in the Sessions Court on nine counts of criminal breach of trust for abusing fuel cards of Syarikat Rapid Bas Kuantan in May last year.
Khairulanuar Khairuddin, 34, and Mohd Khairul Basha Khairuddin, 25, an assistant at an eatery, pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were read out to them before Judge Datuk Habibah Mohamed Yusof.
They had committed the offences on May 26 last year at a Petronas service station in Kuantan by using five fuel cards of Rapid Bas Kuantan for their own benefit, thus causing the company to lose 1,830 litres of diesel valued at RM2,836.
They were arrested at 10pm on the same day. DPP Mohd Fadhly Mohd Zamry of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission proposed bail of RM15,000 for each of the accused who were unrepresented, and they appealed for a lower bail sum.
The judge set bail at RM7,000 and fixed June 6 for mention of the case. — Bernama
