UPSR exam continues in Kedah

ALOR STAR: The Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination in Kedah would proceed according to schedule despite the passing of the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.
The Education Ministry said in a statement that the UPSR examination scheduled for Sept 11, 12, 13, 14, and 18 which involved 8,085 examination centres and 51,363 examination staff and 443,794 candidates throughout the country would be held as scheduled.
UPSR candidates tomorrow will sit for the English Language paper on comprehension and writing.
All registered examination candidates and staff including UPSR candidates in Kedah must be present at the examination centres to sit for the examination although tomorrow has been declared as a state public holiday.
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry expressed its condolences to the Kedah Royal family. — Bernama
