SUBANG: A police report made against a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter who got into fisticuffs with security guards at the lobby of an apartment here has been retracted as both parties have made peace with each other.
"The report was retracted by the complainant because the guards and the man's family have made amends already and thus we will not continue the investigation," said Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohd Azlin Mohd Sadari.
The incident that was recorded and went viral on social media saw the man in question engaging in a fist fight with security guards.
Azlin said the scuffle started when the man was denied access by the guards to enter the premises as the occupants of the condominium had earlier informed the guards not to let him in.
In the videos, the man can be initially seen exchanging words with a security guard who looks like a foreigner.
A bystander tried to calm the situation but the man, clad in black sports attire, suddenly kicked the guard's thigh.
The guard responded by grappling the man's leg and both fell to the ground.
Two more security guards rushed over to help their colleague and apprehended the man.
It was reported earlier that the MMA fighter, Darriush Kha Lili, had also admitted to being wrong for getting violent with the security.
Darriush said that he "could have easily fought back" with the guards but he did not want to hurt anyone."I didn't even fight back, I'm not dumb," he reportedly said.
"Guys, it's a long story ... it's me there, I didn't intend to hurt anyone, I could've fight back easily yea, I just threw few kicks to keep him away, then they just jumped me, I didn't even fight back, I'm not dumb." he was reported saying.
