Empat pekebun durian didakwa ubah wang haram hampir RM560,000

Empat pekebun durian di Raub mengaku tidak bersalah atas 10 pertuduhan pengubahan wang haram hasil jualan durian tanpa kebenaran.

KUANTAN: Empat pekebun durian mengaku tidak bersalah di Mahkamah Sesyen di sini atas 10 pertuduhan pengubahan wang haram hampir RM560,000.

Mereka ialah Lai Seng Wah (44), Chin Swee Heung (53), Chua Seng Wen (64) dan Tong Thin Fook (60).

Pengakuan dibuat selepas pertuduhan dibacakan secara berasingan di hadapan Hakim Sazlina Safie.

Lai didakwa atas dua pertuduhan memperoleh hasil RM40,245 daripada aktiviti haram di Sungai Klau, Raub antara 25 Julai 2024 hingga 15 April lepas.

Chin berdepan lima pertuduhan sama dengan jumlah RM48,774 di lokasi sama antara 27 Julai 2024 hingga 29 Ogos lepas.

Chua didakwa memperoleh hasil RM15,945 di Sungai Klau, Raub antara 11 Julai hingga 12 Ogos lepas.

Tong didakwa atas dua pertuduhan sama dengan jumlah RM454,365 di Sungai Ruan, Raub antara 4 Julai 2024 hingga 7 Oktober lepas.

Kesemua pertuduhan dibuat di bawah Seksyen 4(1)(b) Akta Pencegahan Pengubahan Wang Haram, Pencegahan Pembiayaan Keganasan dan Hasil Daripada Aktiviti Haram 2001.

Akta itu memperuntukkan hukuman maksimum penjara 15 tahun dan denda lima kali ganda jumlah wang terlibat jika sabit kesalahan.

Timbalan Pendakwa Raya SPRM Ezuain Farhana Ahmad mencadangkan wang jaminan antara RM20,000 hingga RM50,000 dengan syarat tambahan.

Peguam Muhammad Amirull Afiqq Mohamad Lokman memohon jaminan minimum kerana tertuduh menanggung keluarga.

Mahkamah membenarkan wang jaminan RM20,000 untuk setiap tertuduh dengan syarat tambahan seperti dimohon pihak pendakwaan.

Kes ditetapkan untuk sebutan semula pada 9 Disember ini. – Bernama
