PETALING JAYA: Wawasan Dengkil Holdings Bhd has clinched a RM22.7 million contract to build a cluster of affordable homes in Sepang, Selangor, strengthening its order book through 2027.
The contract was awarded by Selangor State Development Corp (PKNS) to Wawasan Dengkil Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the group.
According to a Bursa Malaysia filing, the contract covers the construction and completion of 56 single-storey residential units, along with supporting facilities, at Kampung Bukit Baja in Mukim Sepang, Selangor.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin on June 8 this year with completion set for Oct 24, 2027. The 72-week timeline places the bulk of construction activity across the next financial year, providing the group with a steady stream of revenue visibility.
As with typical government-linked contracts, the agreement carries strict delivery requirements.
Wawasan Dengkil is expected to complete the project within the stipulated time frame and meet PKNS’s specifications, failing which the developer reserves the right to impose penalties, including liquidated damages or termination of the contract.
In the filing, Wawasan Dengkil said the project is expected to contribute positively to its earnings per share and net assets per share over the duration of the works. It added that the contract will not result in any changes to its share capital or the shareholdings of its substantial shareholders.
The board views the contract as being within its core construction business and in the best interest of the company.
Wawasan Dengkil, based in Dengkil, undertakes earthworks, civil engineering and construction-related services, and also trades building materials and leases machinery and commercial vehicles.
PKNS is Selangor’s development agency, responsible for driving property and infrastructure projects across the state.
