SMTrack strengthens governance with appointment of new independent director

KUALA LUMPUR: SMTrack Bhd recently appointed Mohammed Nasser Yusof as the new independent non-executive director, strengthening the company’s governance framework amid its ongoing business diversification efforts.

Mohammed Nasser, a seasoned legal practitioner, brings over 12 years of experience in general litigation, industrial relations, medico-legal matters, Islamic finance, and regulatory compliance.

He is the principal partner of Messrs The Law Chambers of Fauzi & Nasser, where he advises clients on contractual matters, corporate governance, litigation strategy, and compliance requirements.

He also holds a Certificate in Shariah for Banking & Finance, which adds depth to his corporate advisory capabilities, and has previously served as a legal advisor to major organisations, including Limkokwing University of Creative Technology International and BSL Containers (HK) Ltd.

Commenting on the appointment, SMTrack deputy executive chairman Datuk Azmi Osman said Mohammed Nasser brings a strong legal foundation and valuable regulatory insight that will enhance the board’s oversight and strategic direction.

“His experience across litigation, compliance, and Shariah-related advisory work will support SMTrack as we strengthen governance and drive our multi-sector growth strategy,” he said.

The appointment supports SMTrack’s commitment to board diversity.

It also reinforces its focus on accountability, compliance, and long-term value creation as the company continues expanding into technology, aviation, wellness, property, consultancy, and F&B sectors.
