Imigresen tahan 11 warga China dalam operasi pusat judi dalam talian

PUTRAJAYA: Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia berjaya membongkar pusat operasi perjudian dalam talian yang berselindung di sebalik kediaman mewah di Jalan P. Ramlee, Kuala Lumpur.

Operasi khas yang dijalankan pada Khamis lepas itu menyaksikan penahanan 11 warga China yang terlibat dalam aktiviti haram tersebut.

Ketua Pengarah Imigresen Datuk Zakaria Shaaban (gambar) mengesahkan penahanan 10 lelaki dan seorang wanita berumur antara 20 hingga 40 tahun dalam operasi jam 3.50 petang itu.

“Modus operandi yang digunakan adalah dengan menjadikan premis kediaman mewah sebagai pusat operasi perjudian dalam talian yang dikendalikan oleh warga China.”

“Aktiviti ini menggunakan aplikasi Telegram dan WhatsApp untuk tujuan promosi dan komunikasi,” jelas Zakaria dalam kenyataan rasmi.

Semakan awal mendapati dua lelaki yang ditahan memiliki Pas Lawatan Sosial yang sah untuk berada di Malaysia.

Lima lelaki lagi didapati telah tinggal lebih masa daripada tempoh yang dibenarkan di negara ini.

Tiga lelaki dan seorang wanita yang ditahan tidak memiliki sebarang dokumen perjalanan atau pas yang sah.

Pasukan operasi berjaya menyita tujuh pasport China daripada suspek yang ditahan.

Sebanyak 11 unit komputer riba turut dirampas dalam operasi tersebut.

Tujuh unit telefon bimbit dan tiga unit set komputer juga berjaya dirampas.

Wang tunai sebanyak RM3,900 turut disita sebagai barang bukti.

Kesemua warga China itu kini ditahan untuk siasatan lanjut di bawah beberapa akta imigresen.

Mereka disyaki melakukan kesalahan di bawah Peraturan 39(b) Peraturan-Peraturan Imigresen 1963.

Siasatan juga dijalankan di bawah Seksyen 15(4) Akta Imigresen 1959/63.

Seksyen 6(3) Akta Imigresen 1959/63 turut digunakan dalam siasatan kes ini.

Kesemua warganegara asing tersebut telah dibawa ke Pejabat Imigresen Putrajaya untuk proses siasatan yang lebih terperinci. – Bernama
