Chinese uncle signs Indian neighbour’s child report card and pays fees, showing kindness and Malaysian unity. Netizens call it heartwarming.
A simple photo shared on Threads has melted hearts across Malaysia after revealing an act of kindness that many netizens say perfectly reflects the country’s true spirit of unity.
In a post by Threads user @nadeyamiza, a Chinese uncle was praised for willingly taking time out of his day to go to a school and sign a report card — not for his own child, but for his Indian neighbour’s child.
“This photo is special because a Chinese uncle willingly took the time to go to school to sign a report card for his neighbour’s child, who is Indian.
“I’ve never even thought of taking a neighbour’s child along — let alone one of a different race.
“It felt a bit awkward when the teacher asked about the PIBG (PTA) fee, but the uncle casually said, “It’s okay, I’ll pay.”
“The teacher reminded him to inform the child’s parents later, and he calmly replied, “No problem.”
“We should help one another. It was really touching — thank you.
“Today, this uncle taught me something. He proved that Malaysians are truly people who live in love and harmony,” the post read.
The story quickly went viral, drawing an outpouring of emotional reactions from netizens.
Many praised the uncle as a shining example of real Malaysian values, while others said the post reminded them that unity isn’t found in slogans, but in everyday actions.
One user called shalini_segar commented: “This is the Malaysia I know.”
“Thank you so much, uncle. You have such a pure and kind heart. May God bless you always with good health, happiness and endless blessings. The world needs more people like you,” nadirahwaharp wrote.
