Food delivery fail: M’sian furious over missing meal, poor refund

Customer complains after missing chicken sandwich set; food delivery app offers RM7 voucher while KPDNKK report fails online

A hungry customer is speaking out after a simple chicken sandwich order turned into a frustrating saga of poor customer service by food delivery app and online dead-ends.

The customer says they ordered a chicken sandwich set, only to find it missing when the delivery arrived.

Using the app’s “my order is missing item” option, they expected a proper refund—but instead were offered a RM7 voucher for a RM23 meal.

“After escalating to customer service, it was just endless back-and-forths of ‘we’ll check’ and ‘sorry, we can’t do anything,’” the customer wrote on Reddit .

When they pushed harder and threatened to report the issue to the Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism ministry (KPDNKK), the delivery app’s customer service allegedly countered with a mere RM3 offer.

“It’s not about the money, but about principle. You can’t just patch up mistakes with a voucher,” the frustrated user said, comparing the experience to other apps, which they claim replaced missing meals and refunded customers without hassle.

Trying to report the issue officially proved equally frustrating. The customer attempted to use KPDNKK’s website and app, only to face unresponsive servers, failed captchas, and endless registration loops.

The thread quickly drew comments from other users. One said, “Other food delivery apps refunds were fast and fair, so I guess I’ll stick with them.”

Another shared, “I’ve had so many issues with this app, I switched to the other one. Not perfect, but at least I got my order.”
