Govt worker exposed for allegedly submitting falsified MCs since 2024

A viral Threads post alleges a government worker used fake medical certificates with an old clinic template, prompting calls for legal action.

A Malaysian woman recently exposed an alleged case of medical leave fraud after claiming that a public servant had been submitting fake medical certificates (MCs) to their employer.

According to a viral post on Threads, the woman alleged that the government worker’s last visit to the clinic in question had been in August 2024.

“The human resources representative said that the employee often gets medical leave (MC) from the clinic,” the post explained.

Suspicious of the claim, the HR representative further alleged that the worker had been submitting MCs bearing the same doctor’s stamp from 2024 until this year.

It was also alleged in a screenshot attached that the doctor in question was no longer working in the clinic.

The clinic staff then requested a photo of the MC and discovered that the document submitted was based on an old template the clinic had used when it first opened around 2023.

“At that time, MCs were prepared using (Microsoft Word) because the system couldn’t generate MCs directly. We switched to a new system in early 2025, which can issue MCs directly and uses a different template.

“But this dishonest person somehow managed to falsify the MC by using the old template and changing the date (how they did it is a mystery), before submitting it to the company,” the woman added.

It was not disclosed whether the doctor was aware that their official stamp had been used on the fake MCs. However, the woman explained that the doctor could take legal action against the government employee for misuse of the stamp.

Netizens urged the clinic to lodge a police report against the worker for using an unauthorised stamp on the MCs, while others pointed out that such actions negatively affect other employees.

“Because of people like this, some companies end up setting strange and unreasonable rules when it comes to medical leave. As a result, employees who are genuinely sick are forced to go to work even when they are unwell. Just lodge a police report. Teach people like that a lesson,” one commenter said.
