Melaka man wins RM20.17mil Toto 4D Jackpot with RM2 bet

Retired estate supervisor from Melaka wins multi-million ringgit jackpot inspired by sports car plates.

A retired supervisor from Melaka has joined Malaysia’s multi-millionaire club after claiming a Toto 4D Jackpot 1 prize exceeding RM20 million.

The 61-year-old bachelor, who previously worked in the oil palm industry, secured RM20.17 million from the November 23 draw, representing a partial win from the total RM20.32 million jackpot pool.

The winner’s fortune came from an unexpected source of inspiration during a shopping trip. While at a mall, he noticed two eye-catching blue sports cars parked adjacent to each other and decided to play their registration numbers.

“I’ve been playing Toto for nearly three decades and always hoped for a significant win, though nothing of this magnitude ever crossed my mind,” the winner shared.

With just a RM2 stake on two numbers, the retiree walked away with RM20,169,749.30 – an astronomical return on investment that left him unable to sleep after confirming his win.

“I experienced several sleepless nights once I realized what had happened,” he admitted.

Despite the windfall, the new millionaire demonstrated financial prudence, stating his intention to invest the prize money wisely to ensure long-term growth rather than splurging on immediate luxuries.

He collected his winnings at STM Lottery Sdn Bhd headquarters, accompanied by a friend for the momentous occasion.

The November 23 draw produced another fortunate winner from Sarawak, who utilized the iSystem betting method to secure RM146,688.95 from the same jackpot pool.

The dual wins highlight the continued popularity of Toto 4D among Malaysians seeking their fortune through the national lottery game.
