M’sian woman claims to have been stalked in Klang mall while out with husband, children

Man allegedly follows a woman and her family from afar in Klang shopping mall, pretending to browse, husband says, raising concerns over stalking and public safety.

A Malaysian woman recently shared her frightening experience of allegedly being stalked in a shopping mall while she was out with her husband and two young children.

According to her claims on Threads, the incident reportedly took place inside a shopping mall in Klang, Selangor.

“Halfway through the outing, I was casually speaking to my husband when suddenly he said, ‘Look at this man, he has been following us,’” she alleged in her post.

The husband further noted that the alleged stalker was observing the woman and her family from afar and made it appear as though he was merely looking around, when he was actually following them.

“I was taken aback, so I turned around and yes, he was looking directly at us and following us. He was wearing sunglasses. We then headed to the inquiry counter and informed the staff that we were being followed.

“I even saw him holding up a mobile phone, so I was quite worried that he was recording me. I was with my husband, yet he was bold enough to do this! Even in a mall, we are not safe,” she further alleged.

She later confirmed that the mall’s security personnel approached the alleged stalker after she reported the incident at the inquiry counter. The woman also claimed that the man appeared to realise she had taken a photo of him during the encounter.

In the comments section, the mother of two further clarified that although her husband wanted to confront the alleged stalker, she chose not to escalate the situation, fearing it might turn dangerous as she had her young child and baby with her at the time.

As the post gained traction, many users advised the woman to report the man to the authorities, while also highlighting the worrying rise of such incidents in public spaces.

One user suggested that the alleged stalker may have targeted her due to the demand for images of women who are pregnant or have recently given birth in nefarious online groups, citing various news reports on the issue.

Another commenter also recounted a similar experience, alleging that they witnessed a “foreign man” recording videos of children playing in a mall playground. When the man was approached, he reportedly fled the scene.
