Tamil actor Vijay arrives in Malaysia for Thalapathy Thiruvizha and Jana Nayagan audio launch ahead of his final film
POPULAR Tamil actor Vijay arrived in Malaysia this evening ahead of the double celebration of Thalapathy Thiruvizha and the audio launch of his upcoming film Jana Nayagan tomorrow at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
In an Instagram reel, the 51-year-old actor was seen arriving alongside the film’s music composer, Anirudh Ravichander, where they were welcomed by event organiser, Datuk Abdul Malik Dasthigeer.
The welcome featured a silat performance by a group of Malay boys, reflecting Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage.

In the reel, Vijay was seen personally carrying a speaker and gesturing towards the silat performers to ensure the sound was clear for their performance, showcasing his down-to-earth nature.
In a subsequent video, fans were seen cheering enthusiastically for the actor, highlighting his popularity and the admiration he commands across borders.
Vijay, was later seen rolling down the car window, waving to his fans with a smile and being driven in a Rolls-Royce by the event organiser himself.
Earlier, it was announced that Jana Nayagan, slated for release on January 9, would be Vijay’s final film as he shifts his focus fully towards his fledging political career with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Born Joseph Vijay to veteran Tamil film director S. A. Chandrasekhar and singer Shoba Chandrasekhar, he made his screen debut as a child artist in his father’s films.
He went on to debut as a lead actor in Naalaiya Theerpu in 1992 at the age of 18, before establishing himself as one of Tamil cinema’s leading stars with a string of blockbusters, including Kadhalukku Mariyadhai (1997), Ghilli (2004), Sachein (2005), Thuppaki (2012), Master (2021) and Leo (2023).
The actor has previously visited Malaysia during the filming of Kuruvi (2008), with much of the film’s first half shot in Kuala Lumpur.
