A viral Threads post shows children climbing on displays at a chain restaurant, sparking backlash over parenting, safety risks and diner disruption.
A Malaysian woman recently called out the behaviour of several poorly behaved children at an eatery.
Images attached to her now-viral Threads post showed two children climbing onto the cake display area, while another child was allegedly seen running into the beverage preparation area.
The incident was said to have taken place at a well-known chain restaurant, although the exact location was not disclosed.

“These kids were playing like this for half an hour — climbing all over the place and rummaging through the restaurant’s things.
“If a glass were to fall on a child or something dangerous happened, the parents would definitely blame the staff there, right?” the post read.
The woman further alleged that the parents were aware of their children’s actions, and that the situation only eased after she and several other bystanders stepped in to reprimand the children.
Netizens criticised the parents for enabling their children’s behaviour despite the potential safety risks, as well as for being a nuisance to other diners.
“I’m glad I wasn’t there. I would have disciplined those kids, along with their parents. This is not something I would tolerate at a place like this. As a paying customer, I expect peace and quiet while eating, not chaos caused by unruly children and irresponsible parents,” one netizen commented.
“They just don’t care about their kids running around. It annoys other diners and shows a complete lack of respect. Sometimes the staff are also unable to handle the situation. But honestly, the staff should speak up if it gets out of hand. We diners just want to eat in peace,” another user said.
