PETALING JAYA: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) held a Bukit Gasing state constituency family day at the MBPJ park and Dataran Boulevard here on Saturday.

The programme was part of the council’s efforts to create a harmonious neighbourhood for the benefit of the community here.

It was in line with the direction of the council’s Smart, Sustainable and Resilient City (PJSSR 2030) plan.

It was aimed at strengthening the relationship among the community, especially those in Bukit Gasing, through the activities organised.

Apart from that, the people friendly programme was also to provide exposure and knowledge to the local community on the initiatives, programmes and services provided by the council and the Selangor state government.

Indirectly, a programme like this can foster partnerships and healthy relationships among community leaders, residents and the council, MBPJ said in a press release.

This could be considered a valuable contribution from the council to the community, thus enhancing the social services, it added.

At the same time, it sought to strengthen the cooperation between the government and private agencies through a more proactive approach.

The council expressed hope that more such programmes would be held in the future.
