PETALING JAYA: Megah Rise Mall’s management recently announced on their Facebook page the re-opening of their main entrance following the ceiling collapse that took place on Oct 28 due to heavy rains and strong winds.

This was also verified by the shopping mall’s property management company, PPB Properties, in a statement confirming that shoppers can now use the main entrance near the car porch as usual, according to a report by The Rakyat Post.

“We are grateful to MBPJ for their support in addressing the issue and our consultants for working alongside our team to conduct detailed safety inspections.

“We understand the concern that this incident has raised among the community, and we want to reassure the public that safety remains our top priority,” read the statement by PPB Properties CEO Low Eng Hooi.

The Megah Rise Mall management also conducted a safety inspection of all the ceilings in the building to confirm its quality and integrity, besides evaluating the main entrance ceiling near car porch.

In the shopping mall’s video posted on Facebook, the mall was open for business as usual – minus the collapsed section that was closed off for safety and rehabilitation purposes.

“Main entrance is closed for enhanced security for the safety of shoppers and tenants,” captioned the video.

During the incident where the mall’s celiling near the car porch collapsed, three people had reportedly sustained slight injuries.
