Ampang brawl: Police record Farhash’s statement

AMPANG JAYA: Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak (pix) was released on police bail at 5pm yesterday after police recorded his statement over a brawl in Ampang on Aug 31.

Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said Farhash, sought by police for over a week, turned up at the Ampang Jaya police station at 10am to give his statement.

“He was subsequently detained to facilitate investigations despite the victim withdrawning his police report,“ he said.

Fadzil said Farhash, who is also political secretary to PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, cooperated with investigators.

“Police also conducted a urine test to which tested negative for drugs,” he said.

The case has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutors for further instructions.

The brawl on Aug 31 allegedly started when a man pushed the victim at a sports complex in Ampang. The management was, however, able to stop the fight.

Unfortunately, the matter did not end there. The man and the victim met again at the venue’s motorcycle parking lot and were later joined by 10 others. The victim was attacked with helmets, knives and chairs.

Fadzil said the victim’s friends tried to help but failed and he suffered injuries.

The case is investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for possession of weapons and rioting.
