KUALA LUMPUR: The weatherman has forecast prolonged heavy rain in several areas of Terengganu and Pahang up to tomorrow.
The National Weather and Geophysics Operation Centre of the Malaysian Meteorological Department identified the areas categorised under its severe weather warning as Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu and Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin in Pahang.
It said in a statement that several other areas came under its alert weather warning with heavy rain forecast until Friday.
These areas were Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Bachok and Pasir Puteh in Kelantan; Besut and Setiu in Terengganu; Jerantut and Maran in Pahang and Mersing and Kota Tinggi in Johor. — Bernama
