Two-year-old boy drowns in lake beside mosque

IPOH: A two-year-old boy drowned after falling into a lake beside a mosque of a private university near Seri Iskandar today.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations division asst director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the boy’s family informed them that the boy fell into the lake when they were at the mosque conducting prayers.

The Seri Iskandar Fire and Rescue Station received a distress call at 1.29 pm and a team arrived at the location about 10 minutes later.

“CCTV footage of the area revealed that the boy was next to the lake.

“He was found at 4.25 pm about three metres from the bank and handed over to the police for further action,” he added.
