Ford’s long-held belief that progress is strongest when shared has once again taken centre stage, this time through the global ‘Ford Building Together’ initiative. In Malaysia, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford carried that spirit forward with an 11-day outreach campaign that delivered food aid and basic healthcare to 600 people from underserved communities across the Klang Valley, Penang, Ipoh and Kuantan. The effort was powered by 55 Ford volunteers who dedicated their time to ensure the assistance reached families who needed it most.
As the sole distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia, Auto ConneXion focused its efforts on groups facing significant daily challenges, selecting B40 families, individuals with disabilities, single mothers, Asnaf Fakir and Miskin households, and the Orang Asli as the primary beneficiaries.
The Klang Valley received aid for 200 people, while Penang saw 100 recipients. In Ipoh, 150 individuals—from single parents to low-income families—were supported, and another 150 from the Orang Asli community in Kampung Paya Bungor, Kuantan benefited from the programme.

Ford’s international philanthropic arm emphasised that its mission has always extended beyond engineering vehicles. The company expressed that meaningful change happens when corporations, partners and communities work together, and the Malaysian campaign was held up as an example of that shared purpose.
A key element of the initiative was the Ford Mobile Clinic, introduced earlier this year. Developed through a partnership between Auto ConneXion-Ford, Yayasan Sime Darby, Ford Philanthropy and MyFundAction, the clinic transported medical professionals to all four locations, bringing essential healthcare directly to communities that often face limited access to such services.
Auto ConneXion-Ford’s leadership underscored that the programme reflected Ford’s global commitment to serving communities with more than just financial support. They highlighted the importance of combining employee passion and the reach of its dealer network to address local needs while forming long-term, meaningful relationships with the people they assist. The company viewed this Malaysian effort as part of its journey towards a more sustainable and supportive future for all.

The initiative was made possible through close coordination between Auto ConneXion-Ford’s management team, staff, authorised dealers nationwide and non-profit partner MyFundAction, which played an essential role in organising the on-ground operations. The company expressed appreciation for the volunteers who contributed not just labour, but genuine care and connection throughout the campaign.
This Malaysian outreach formed part of Ford’s Global Caring Month, an annual worldwide volunteer programme under Ford Philanthropy. It also contributed to the World’s Largest Auto Dealer Food Drive under the Ford Building Together banner, involving more than 1,600 Ford dealers across 31 countries. Collectively, the initiative amassed more than 2 million pounds of food—well beyond its original target of half a million kilograms.
Auto ConneXion-Ford’s latest effort adds to its ongoing list of community-focused projects, including previous work like the Clean Water Project in Gerik and Operation Better World in Kuala Lumpur, strengthening its long-standing commitment to supporting Malaysians in need.
