A 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia’s Talaud Islands region, with no tsunami threat issued to Malaysia according to MetMalaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck Indonesia’s Talaud Islands region today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department confirmed the quake occurred at 1.33 pm with a depth of 10 kilometres.
The epicentre was located 33 kilometres east of the Talaud Islands.
MetMalaysia stated there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia following the seismic event. – Bernama
