KKDW game-changing programmes exceed 95% implementation target

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi reports over 95% of KKDW’s key programmes have been achieved, with a new strategic plan and digital initiatives set for 2026.

IPOH: More than 95% of game-changing programmes under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development have been successfully implemented so far.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this achievement reflects commitment at both ministry and state government levels.

“We want each state’s exco to pay attention to achieving the allocations channelled to the state government,” he said.

He added that they want cost effectiveness to have a lasting impact during a press conference after chairing a coordination meeting.

The meeting was the 60th Ministry of Rural and Regional Development and Rural Executive Committee Coordination Meeting.

Ahmad Zahid said there is a little time left until year-end and he hopes implementation will be fully achieved.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and Deputy Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang.

Perak Rural Development Committee chairman Datuk Zolkafly Harun was also in attendance.

Earlier reports stated KKDW identified 42 game changer programmes for 2025 to improve rural community wellbeing.

Ahmad Zahid said discussions will provide important input for the KKDW Strategic Plan 2026–2030.

The strategic plan is scheduled to be launched in February next year.

The meeting also agreed to adopt Perak’s e-Penghulu system as a national digital platform.

This system will be expanded to all penghulu offices nationwide following the decision.

The national target of 70% of SPM graduates choosing TVET by 2030 was also discussed.

Rural excos nationwide were called upon to support efforts towards this policy goal.
