Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Bukit Bintang closed from 8am Saturday for I LITE U festival, featuring LED displays and officiated by PM Anwar.
KUALA LUMPUR: Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Bukit Bintang will be closed to traffic from 8am tomorrow.
The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) announced the closure to facilitate the “I LITE U” urban sustainability lighting innovation project.
The roads will remain shut until 3am on Sunday, January 4.
The Bukit Bintang area is set to be a focal point on Saturday with the launch of the festival.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the event, which is also expected to feature Oscar winner Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh.
The festival involves a main route stretching nearly one kilometre around Bukit Bintang.
It aims to enliven the city’s night-time atmosphere with captivating lighting displays.
The project highlights urban beauty through modern and sustainable technology, aligning with a low-carbon city agenda.
It features LED designs themed around chandeliers, moon lights and fairytale concepts.
The installation uses energy-efficient technology with more than 70 LED lights.
“I LITE U” is an acronym for Innovative Lighting Infrastructure Towards Eco-elegance Urbanisation.
