GISBH member submits second representation in banned publications case

A GISBH member has submitted a second representation to the Attorney General’s Chambers seeking a review of charges for possessing banned Al-Arqam publications.

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman member of GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd has submitted a second representation to the Attorney General’s Chambers seeking a review of her charge for possessing 38 banned publications related to Al-Arqam.

Lawyer Boestamam Ahmad, representing 61-year-old Aishah Bula Tajudin, informed the court that the representation had been submitted and requested the trial dates be vacated.

“We have once again submitted a representation to the AGC to review the charges in this case,” he told Magistrate Farah Nabihah Mohammad Dan.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Amritpreet Kaur Randhawa did not object to the adjournment request.

The magistrate then set January 22, 2026 for the decision on the second representation and April 2-3 for the trial dates.

Boestamam told media after proceedings that the second representation was submitted on November 20, following the rejection of the first representation last year.

Aishah is charged with possessing 38 banned Al-Arqam publications including “Darul Arqam 25 Tahun Perjuangan Abuya Syeikh Imarn Ashaari Muhammad At-Tamimi” and “Khutbah Aidilfitri 1413 Hijrah”.

The offence was allegedly committed at premises in Kampung Sungai Penchala, Brickfields at 11.30 am on September 21 last year.

The charge falls under Section 8(1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984, which carries a maximum fine of RM5,000 upon conviction.
