Three Nepalese men have their remand extended for seven days in the Juru double murder case involving a mother and daughter.
BUKIT MERTAJAM: The remand period for three Nepalese men, including the main suspect, has been extended by seven days until November 7 in connection with the double murder in Kampung Sekolah Juru.
Magistrate Nurul Rasyidah Mohd Akit issued the remand order at the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate’s Court today to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
The main suspect and two other men, including his brother, arrived separately at the court at 9 am wearing police lockup attire.
Sariya Che Hin, 51, and her adopted daughter Nur Afrina Alisha Abdul Rahim, 11, were found dead in a house in Kampung Sekolah Juru on October 18.
The woman’s body was discovered in the kitchen while the girl’s body was found on the top floor of the residence.
Police initially detained the woman’s 57-year-old husband for one week until October 25 following the incident.
Authorities later arrested the three Nepalese men to assist further with the murder investigation.
The main suspect was detained at an immigration office while attempting to flee the country.
The other two suspects were arrested at a residence in Bukit Tengah. – Bernama
