Dr Wan Azizah urges women to believe in potential, stay resilient

Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail encourages women to believe in their abilities and remain patient through life’s tests, balancing family and career roles.

PUTRAJAYA: Women must continue to believe in their potential and remain resilient when facing life’s challenges, particularly in balancing roles as wives, mothers and professionals.

Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said every life test is part of Allah’s decree, and women should remain patient and rely on Him.

“Women are given health, education and positions. But who in this life does not face tests? Everyone faces trials,” she said.

“Allah will not test us beyond what we can bear. Allah knows His servants better than they know themselves.”

She delivered this message in her speech at the Usrah Mega Muslimah (UMMu) 2025 event here today.

Dr Wan Azizah, who chairs Pertubuhan Kebajikan Amal Silaturahim Isteri-Isteri Harapan Malaysia (Kasih Malaysia), also serves as patron of the Association of Wives and Women Members of the Civil Service (PUSPANITA).

She expressed appreciation for the dedication of civil servants, particularly women, in driving the government’s reform agenda to enhance service delivery.

“Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, strengthen empathy and uphold good governance,” she urged.

She added that with the right commitment and integrity, the aspiration to elevate the public service can be realised.

The UMMu 2025 programme, held under the theme ‘Akhirnya Sempurna’, aims to promote work-life balance among women staff of religious agencies.

It also seeks to reinforce spiritual strength through Quranic and worship-based approaches.

The programme highlights the Quran as spiritual therapy and offers guidance on prioritising life from psychological, medical and religious perspectives.

Also present were Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee.

Religious Services Officers Association president and JAKIM deputy director-general (Operations) Datuk Mohd Ajib Ismail attended.

PUSPANITA president Puan Sri Maheran Jamil was also present.
